"What is life? What is the meaning of life?"

Are we just meaningless specks in the wide universe?

Unfortunately, yes. We're born into this world with a void in purpose. We're like a blank cheque, with the Creator of Life's (not necessarily God) signature."

I can tell you there's NO GOD IN THIS WORLD, but if you do not believe, what good would that do? I can ALSO tell you THERE'S GOD IN THIS WORLD, but again, if you don't believe, what good would that do, as well?

If you think religion can INSTANTLY solve your problem, you're wrong. If priests are marketing professionals, they'd be earning big bucks, just by selling their product (i.e. religion).

Believe in yourself!

Stand up to those bullying you, stand up to those picking on you!

You're not born into this world to win awards at hospitality or likeability. So what if people dislike, or hate you? Adjust your mindset - there WILL BE people who would appreciate you.

Nothing to achieve in life? Impossible! Be it that iPod you want to get, that girl you want to woo, that grade you want to achieve, there's always something for you to work towards! Take a step back, and stop focusing on your agonies.

Forget about the bullying, the picking on. Think, instead, about the things, no matter how little, that you want to achieve. List them down. No matter how stupid they seem, list them down!

Remember, no one can make you inferior, without your own consent.

What if humans don't die?

everything has its limitation. and for us human, death awaits us!

ever wonder what will u do if u know u're gonna die the next moment? or afraid that u would die unknowingly? The process of aging is inevitable and absolutely necessary for our current physical biological body. theres no safety guarantees in life, u jus live, age and dies. Sad rite? NOPE!

Human's lifespan is what challenged us into making full use of our innovating ability! Technology development and research growth is what we human r trying to do while we're alive.. trying to prolong human lifespan, finding cures for all disease, operations tools and technologies for terminal diseases.

IF human don't die.. all these would had never happened so fast. we will have no worries for prolonging life with cure n medicine. and we can do whatever we wan for EVER. nothing will be cherished, friends family loveones. Our values, perspective and society will change greatly IF we dont die. imagine a world with inputs and no outputs(human), overpopulated environment with unmotivated society. it could only get worst!

Thus, we had to DIE. Recycle. Cherish everyone around u! when u feel like giving up, think back what makes u held on in the first place. Family, friends, loveones?

Extracted from Troy:
The Gods envy us. They envy us because we're mortal, because any moment might be our last. Everything is more beautiful because we're doomed. You will never be lovelier than you are now. We will never be here again.

So, are you afraid of Death?

Money Management (Guys VS Girls)

saw this topic debate held on the sgforums site. lol. girls mostly spend money on appearance, fashion, outlooks. guys spend their money on IT stuff? i shud help them edit the topic. guys mostly spend money on hobbies? lol. electronic gadgets, cars, stamps, models, games, computer IT stuff and etc.. but as when we reach a certain age.. we'll find tt we dun really have much time on hobbies and stuffs. work whole day n accompany partners or frens after work. so the result will become : guys mostly spend money on girls orrr to impress girls. haha. most of the pple in the forum thinks tt they spend 50:50 fashion:hobbies. coz nowadays looks DO matters. no matter which line u're in or who u wanna impress. for me..

i think i spend most on food! n life enjoyment. haha hobbies wise would be my 'Lao po' and computer stuffs. fashion.. just good enough to stay in trend would do. lol.

most guys wun have good financial management bah (im 1 of them) jus like when sum1 ask u to buy something for them at sheng shiong for 8.40 jus becoz the mama shop nearby sells 8.70. for me i would tell him/her "i pay u 30c -_- u buy at mama shop bah". normally guys dun really look out for discount or shop around for diff price n offer for the same item. any reasonable price will do. grab n go. result in "dunno how come my money gone so fast leh -___-" abit abit here n there sums up to a mountain! lol!!

girls shud be diff bah. coz they ENJOY shoppppppeng! even window shopping can can last them whole day longgg -_- financial mangement wise, they're much much better. "everyday shop everyday shop but how come they will nv get poor de!" lol from some real life example i've seen. they work during schdays n even in holidays to save up money for the shopping spree. n most gals always "Diet" pocketmoney can save abit here n there. they dun really spend money on inpractical, unnecessary stuff. so most gal shud have at least quite a sum of money by 18yr old. once a while go out with fren splurge on food, fashion and movies.

not a must but most gentleman would treat a lady for a meal or movie when they're going out. this is one of the factor why guys shud work harder n earn more than girls!

last but not least. Mood. one of the biggest factor where money is concern. most pple spend money depending on mood. when u're happy, u tend to be more generous with ur expense. giving treats and buying gifts. oso when u're not happy or rather sad. u will go all out to poison urself with junk food, alcohol, or maybe even 'charity' to singapore pools. Be it angry, emo, or moody, try not to make ur wallet suffers. every single cent comes from blood n sweat of ur parent and even u urself.

a simple normal handphone of 200 bucks will take around 80hrs youth of a teenager working in macdonald with base pay of 2.80/hr!

all these are jus my opinions. might not be true. no offence.
come to think of it. its almost the same as Time Management (Guys VS Girls) to be continued.

A story you and i had seen before..

Two men, both seriously ill, occupied the same hospital room. One man was allowed to sit up in his bed for an hour each afternoon to help drain the fluid from his lungs. His bed was next to the room's only window. The other man had to spend all his time flat on his back.

The men talked for hours on end. They spoke of their wives and families, their homes, their jobs, their involvement in the military service, where they had been on vacation. And every afternoon when the man in the bed by the window could sit up, he would pass the time by describing to his roommate all the things he could see outside the window. The man in the other bed began to live for those one-hour periods where his world would be broadened and enlivened by all the activity and color of the outside world.

The window overlooked a park with a lovely lake, the man said. Ducks and swans played on the water while children sailed their model boats. Lovers walked arm in arm amid flowers of every color of the rainbow. Grand old trees graced the landscape, and a fine view of the city skyline could be seen in the distance.

As the man by the window described all this in exquisite detail, the man on the other side of the room would close his eyes and imagine the picturesque scene. One warm afternoon the man by the window described a parade passing by. Although the other man couldn't hear the band, he could see it in his mind's eye as the gentleman by the window portrayed it with descriptive words.

Unexpectedly, an alien thought entered his head:Why should he have all the pleasure of seeing everything while I never get to see anything ? It didn't seem fair. As the thought fermented the man felt ashamed at first. But as the days passed and he missed seeing more sights, his envy eroded into resentment and soon turned him sour. He began to brood and he found himself unable to sleep. He should be by that window - that thought now controlled his life.

Late one night as he lay staring at the ceiling, the man by the window began to cough. He was choking on the fluid in his lungs. The other man watched in the dimly lit room as the struggling man by the window groped for the button to call for help. Listening from across the room he never moved, never pushed his own button which would have brought the nurse running. In less than five minutes the coughing and choking stopped, along with the sound of breathing. Now there was only silence ----- deathly silence.

The following morning the day nurse arrived to bring water for their baths. When she found the lifeless body of the man by the window, she was saddened and called the hospital attendants to take it away -- no works, no fuss. As soon as it seemed appropriate, the other man asked if he could be moved next to the window. The nurse was happy to make the switch, and after making sure he was comfortable, she left him alone.

Slowly, painfully, he propped himself up on one elbow to take his first look. Finally, he would have the joy of seeing it all himself. He strained to slowly turn to look out the window beside the bed. It faced a blank wall.

Don't Quit - this is dedicated to all my friends, foes and whoever sees this.

When things go wrong as they sometimes will,
When the road you're trudging seems all up hill,
When the funds are low and the debts are high
And you want to smile, but you have to sigh,
When care is pressing you down a bit,
Rest if you must, but don't you quit.
Life is queer with its twists and turns,
As every one of us sometimes learns,
And many a failure turns about
When he might have won had he stuck it out;
Don't give up though the pace seems slow--
You may succeed with another blow,
Success is failure turned inside out--
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt,
And you never can tell how close you are,
It may be near when it seems so far;
So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit--
It's when things seem worst that you must not quit.

Let's face it, we've changed, we've all changed. Somewhere between the holiday end and school starting, we've all gone our own directions. Hearts were broken, friendships were diminished, and new loves started and new people came into our lives. We no longer spend all of our time together in our circle of friends; we no longer talk for hours about nothing at all. Some of us are finding love while some of us are trying to let go. Even though we've changed we all know that even though we're all finding our own place in the world that when we find love, let go of a love, or when the tears fall, or a smile spreads across our face, we'll still be drifted apart because no matter where this crazy world takes us and no matter what happens nothing will change so much that we are all not friends forever.
